This dimension carries the most weight because your About section is where the conversion decision is made. Experience (35 points): whether your roles show specific numbers tied to outcomes rather than task descriptions. Skills and Profile Signals (25 points): whether your top skills align with your positioning and whether completeness signals like a custom URL, location, and education are present. The headline is not scored in the Profile Audit because LinkedIn's PDF export format makes accurate headline extraction unreliable. What makes a LinkedIn headline effective for founders?
An effective headline scores on four dimensions: Client Specificity (naming who you serve precisely), Outcome Clarity (stating the specific result clients achieve), Clarity and Readability (understandable in under three seconds), and Scroll-Stop Power (memorable enough to pause the right person). The strongest headlines follow this structure: I help specific client achieve specific outcome through what you do. A job title headline like CEO at Company Name scores near zero on all four dimensions because it names nothing about the client, the result, or the transformation.
Why does my LinkedIn About section matter more than my posts?
Your About section is the only part of your LinkedIn profile a visitor reads with the intention of deciding whether to reach out. Posts are consumed and forgotten.
