Most founders think they have a visibility problem.

They don't. They have a positioning problem.

I want to tell you about Amara.

Amara runs a branding consultancy. She has worked with companies in three countries. Her clients love her. Her results are documented. Her expertise is real.

But on LinkedIn she was a ghost.

Not because she was not showing up. She posted four times a week without fail. She engaged on other people's content every morning before work. She had even paid for a LinkedIn optimization course that promised to double her visibility.

Twelve months later she sent me a message that broke my heart a little.

"Jennifer I think LinkedIn just does not work for people like me."

I asked her to send me her profile link. Within three minutes I could see exactly what was happening. And it had nothing to do with her content.

The difference between posting and positioning is the difference between being seen and being chosen.

Here is what most people get wrong about LinkedIn. They think it is a content platform. It is not.

LinkedIn is a trust platform. And trust does not come from posting frequently. It comes from showing up in a way that makes the right person feel like you understand their world better than anyone else they follow.

Amara was posting. But she was not positioning. And those two things are not the same.

Posting is showing up. Positioning is showing up in a way that makes your ideal client think "this person gets me."

Most founders spend all their energy on posting and almost none on positioning. That is why their LinkedIn is active but their clients are not coming.

Here is exactly what I found on Amara's profile. And what we changed.

1. Her banner was beautiful but meaningless. It had her logo and a tagline that said "Building Brands That Last." Clean. Professional. Completely invisible. A founder landing on her page had no idea what she did or why they should care. They made that decision in under three seconds. We replaced it with a banner that answered one question immediately: What do you do and who is it for? Within a week her profile visits doubled.
2. Her headline was a job title not a client magnet. It said "Brand Consultant and Creative Director." Accurate. Forgettable. There are thousands of brand consultants on LinkedIn. We rewrote it to lead with the transformation she creates. Not her title. The result.
3. Her About section was a biography not a conversation. It opened with her years of experience. We rewrote it to open with her ideal client's exact frustration: the feeling of having a brilliant business that nobody can see clearly. Founders started commenting saying "this is literally my situation."
4. Her Featured section was a graveyard. Two old posts and a link to her website. No booking link. No services document. No invitation. The door was locked and she did not even know it. We built a Featured section with three conversion assets: a discovery call link, a services document, and her best case study.
5. Her content was teaching but never positioning. She was building a library, not a reputation. There is a version of content that makes people respect you. And there is a version that makes people pay you. We shifted her strategy so every post delivered value and established her specific authority.
6. She had no CTA on any post. Twelve months of posting and not one invitation. We added one specific invitation to every post going forward. DM me. Book a call. Check my Featured section.

Three weeks. Three inbound inquiries.

Three weeks after we made these changes, a founder in the UK reached out asking about her packages. Then a second inquiry five days later. Then a third.

Amara messaged me after the third one: "Jennifer nothing about my expertise changed. Only how LinkedIn communicates it. And suddenly the right people are finding me."
